Hypertensive Disorders Of Pregnancy (HDP) Can Result In Children With Autism And ADHD    




Risk Of Hdp Can Be Promoted By Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome, And Advanced Maternal Age    




According to a study, women exposed to hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) while pregnant have an increased risk of having children born with neurodevelopmental disorders. These include including autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The study revealed that there was a 35% increased risk of ASD and a 30% increase in ADHD risk. ASD risk can increase with HDP, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and advanced maternal age. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, such as pre-eclampsia, affect 5% to 15% of all pregnancies.
